İstanbul has several public transportation options that are not only affordable but also pretty convenient. There are countless intercity buses operated by İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), 10 metro lines, various Metrobus lines that work until very late at night, trams and nostalgic trams, Marmaray, ferries, and motorboats to connect the two continents, funicular, cable car, and other railway systems to make sure you reach your destination as easy and quickly as possible.
You will also find countless taxi stops around the city if you decide to take a taxi. Alternatively, you can hail one on the way. There are also several apps to reach taxi drivers more conveniently, especially during rush hour.
In Turkey, left-hand traffic is used and the driver seat is on the left part of the car. So, you drive on the right side of the road. If you are planning on renting a car during your trip, it is a good idea to practice driving on the left before your upcoming trip. And don’t forget to keep on the right side of the road!
